The Link Coupled Parallel Tuner has Two Coils. L1 (the link) is 4.2uh, and L2 (the secondary coil) is 42uh. The Coils are made from 3/16 inch Copper Tubing.
The Link Coil L1 Diameter is about 4-1/2 inches with 6 turns. The Main Coil L2 has 38 turns, wound on a 3-1/2 inch Diameter PVC Pipe. I wound Weed Wacker Line between the turns for separation of the turns. Of course one could cut groves into the PVC Pipe.
The Capacitor across L2 is a 200pf Air Variable Capacitor and is connected across the coil. The L1 Capacitor is a three section Air Variable Capacitor with a total capacity of 800pf. This is not enough capacity, so a 1000pf padder capactor was placed across the capacitor.
Several turns out from the center of L2 are connections made to the coil for the connecting points for the open wire line. These connection were found by experimation for the best tuning of the tuner and the same thing applied to the Padder Capactor used across L1. This all depends on several factors when matching the antenna. The type of Antenna, the Length of Feed Lines used, as well as the Impedance of the Feed Line.
I use a 160 meter Dipole with a Tuned Reflector below some 60 feet away from the Driven Element. The Dipole is 90 foot above the ground with 600 ohms open wire feed line.
